HESI-Health Canada-McGill University Genomics in Cancer Risk Assessment Workshop- Sponored by EMGS

This 2-day workshop is organized by the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) Application of Genomics to Mechanism-Based Risk Assessment Committee, Health Canada and McGill University, and will feature multi-sector and international perspectives on current and potential applications of genomics in cancer risk assessment.

Through presentations and case studies from representatives of academia, government, and industry, the workshop will identify and address:
• Areas in the current cancer risk assessment paradigm where genomics approaches will have a chance to add value in the future
• Insights gained through genomics data or molecular approaches, and their applications in regulatory decision making
• Roadblocks for implementation of genomics in cancer risk assessment
• Formulation of recommendations and next steps needed to implement genomics approaches in cancer risk assessment
