Did you miss it? With the press of present events, it would be easy to miss the start of the EMGS Young Scientist Award Competition. This Award Competition recognizes and honors the achievements of young scientists in EMGS who will lead its next 50 years.
I encourage you to visit the award website and view the competition videos. These are precious resources that can teach you a lot about environmental genomic health. I found the videos so compelling that I voted for each candidate ten times! The leadership of EMGS, the Honors and Awards Committee and the Young Scientist Award Subcommittee encourage you to vote, and vote often, because every cast vote is a vote for the future of EMGS. The funds we raise in this competition support our society, the organization and management of our annual meeting, professional journal, the Hollaender Outreach courses and science advocacy. All of these are worthy activities, so, help out and donate if you can.
The Young Scientist Award winner is invited to give a plenary lecture at our annual meeting. Don’t forget to register for this year’s virtual meeting, September 12-16. Hope to see you there.
