In their October 2018 Editor's Choice article, "Somatic Mutation Load and Spectra: A Record of DNA Damage and Repair in Healthy Human Cells" Saini and Gordenin summarize next generation sequencing data regarding the nature and magnitude of the mutational load in tissues of cancer-free individuals.
In their August 2018 Editor's Choice article, "Hepatic DNA Damage in Harbour Porpoises (Phocoena phocoena) Stranded along the English and Welsh Coastlines," Acevedo-Whitehouse et al. characterize pollutant-induced DNA damage in harbor porpoises from UK waters.
