The EMGS was founded in 1969 by distinguished scientists Drs. Alexander Hollaender, Joshua Lederberg, James Crow, James Neel, William Russell, Heinrich Malling, Frederick J. de Serres, and Matthew Meselson, among others. Learn about who the EMGS is, and what our mission, vision and goals are.

Science

The society was founded to provide a forum for the support of scientists in the field of environmental mutagenesis. The interests of the society encompass all areas of mutagenesis, including mutational mechanisms, development of test methods, biomarkers, molecular epidemiology, and risk assessment.

Endowment Fund

Hollaender International Outreach

Hollaender courses are organized internationally in countries where environmental mutagenesis and health issues are major concerns, giving local scientists information in current topical areas.
